A few weeks ago I wrote a blog praising the old Geo Metro’s high MPG rating. I overlooked some other MPG superstars. The graphic above shows us that when pushed by an oil crisis, automakers had no problems making cars that were fuel efficient. Almost 30 years later and these automaker D-Bags can’t figure out a way to get fuel efficient cars into the American market? Really? How about this? Stop making cars that have 200 horsepower… Check out some of the superstars on this list… 1981 Volkswagon Jetta- 57 MPG highway. Dodge Omni 50 MPG highway. Isuzu I-Mark 51 MPG highway. Japan, Germany, and even America made cars that got over 50 MPG on the highway. Unreal!!! When I read shit like this I want to find an auto exec and shake the hell out of them and just scream, “why?”
